IOU Central’s innovative platform connects to dozens of data sources, allowing them to aggregate and automatically process hundreds of data points on a business in seconds.

Using this proprietary technology, IOU Central has reduced the loan process from weeks or months to one that can be completed easily online and funded within hours, making it a trusted alternative to banks. Utilizing third-party API’s and operating as a 100% paperless company, IOU Central leverages this technology to provide a faster, more efficient loan process.

IOU Central, which has funded over $100 million, is a privately held subsidiary of IOU Financial (TSX-V: IOU), which is headquartered in Montreal, Canada.


Based in metro Atlanta, IOU Central is a subsidiary of Montreal based IOU Financial, a TSX-V listed issuer. The management teams at IOU Financial and IOU Central bring their extensive combined finance, lending, management, and technology experience to the company.

Phil Marleau - CEO, Founder
IOU Financial

The founder of IOU Financial, Phil Marleau has served as Chief Executive Officer, President, and Director since August 2006. Previously, Mr. Marleau was employed as a portfolio manager with Palos Management, a boutique investment management firm, and as a financial analyst in the equity research divisions of Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse First Boston, and Scotia Capital. Mr. Marleau serves on several boards, including Palos Capital Corporation, and holds a B.Eng. with a minor in Economics from McGill University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Mayco Quiroz - CFO
IOU Financial

Mayco Quiroz joined IOU Financial in 2006, and has seen and helped the company move thorough the life cycle, from inception to actual product launch, and currently contributes to the company’s continued growth strategy. At IOU Financial, Mr. Quiroz is mainly responsible for treasury management, financial compliance and reporting, strategy, supplier and bank relations, funding of new loans, and corporate matters. Mr. Quiroz is a Charted Professional Accountant (CPA), specializing in management accounting and strategy. Mr. Quiroz has a strong technical and professional background in cost, management, and financial accounting.

Paul Hamilton - CTO
IOU Financial

Joining as Chief Technology Officer in 2014, Paul Hamilton is responsible for developing the overall technology vision for the company, driving cross-company engineering initiatives and collaboration, and overseeing the planning, execution, and maintenance of all development, quality assurance, business intelligence, and IT operations. Prior to joining IOU Financial, Mr. Hamilton held a number of technology leadership positions at different institutions, including VP of Technology Group at Maplesoft, Senior Director at McAfee, Technology Director at Disney Interactive and VP of Software Development at GuestDriven. Mr. Hamilton holds a B.Sc. from McGill University.

Robert Gloer - President, COO
IOU Central

Robert Gloer joined IOU Central in December 2008, where he serves as President and Chief Operations Officer. Prior to IOU Central, Mr. Gloer worked at First Franklin Financial Corporation, a subsidiary of Merrill Lynch, serving as Underwriting Manager, Operations Manager, VP Branch Manager, SVP East Region, and Director of East Coast, respectfully. Leading over 450 employees to the top of six regions, Mr. Gloer was responsible for the oversight of all sales and operations, as well as a $500m annual P&L. Prior to First Franklin, Mr. Gloer was SVP of Loan Administration for Credit Depot, where he was responsible for Investor Relations, Secondary Marketing, and Underwriting. Prior to this, Mr. Gloer worked for Equicredit Corp, a Nations Bank Company.

Madeline Wade - VP Operations
IOU Central

Madeline Wade has served as Treasurer and Vice President of Operations of IOU Central since December 2008. From October 2005 to March 2008, Mrs. Wade worked for First Franklin Financial Corporation, a subsidiary of Merrill Lynch, serving in multiple positions including Automated Underwriting Trainer and Support, Level II Underwriter, and Loan Account Manager. From October 2002 to September 2005, she served as Deal Manager and Underwriter for Bayrock Corporation. She received her B.A. degree from LSU, and is a member of the American Business Women’s Association.

Jeff Turner - VP Credit & Compliance
IOU Central

Jeff Turner has served as VP of Credit and Compliance at IOU Central since September 2013. Prior to joining IOU Central, he worked with First Franklin Financial Corporation, a subsidiary of Merrill Lynch, serving as VP and Branch Manager of the Charlotte wholesale division. Mr. Turner led over 60 employees to become one of the top performing branches out of 36, while being responsible for the oversight of all sales and operations and $100m in monthly production annual P&L. Prior to First Franklin, Mr. Turner was RVP of the Southeast for Credit Depot, where he was responsible for the region’s production and operations, covering five states. Mr. Turner began his lending career in the 1990’s, first as a Retail Loan Officer with UC Lending, then as a Branch Manager, running a top three performing branch out of 144 within the company. Mr. Turner received his B.A. degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 1982.

Brian Stupp – VP Marketing
IOU Central

Brian Stupp joined IOU Central as the Vice President Marketing in September, 2014 where he is responsible for building a brand vision and strategic planning for IOU Central. Mr. Stupp comes to the company with over 20 years of Marketing and Business Strategy, building brands such as Nestle, Pillsbury, Haagen-Dazs, Duncan Hines, Brunswick, and most recently was in business development at Ernst & Young. In addition to large company branding experience, Mr. Stupp has worked directly with small independent retailers and business owners in the billiards, pool and spa and furniture industries. Through this experience, Mr. Stupp has developed a strong understanding of small business' needs and looks to ensure IOU Central delivers upon the customer experience and value small business deserves. Mr. Stupp has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis – Olin School.

Don Brenneman - VP Retail Sales
IOU Central

Joining IOU Central in March 2014 as the Vice President of Retail Sales, Don Brenneman brings over 30 years of management, lending, and underwriting experience to his role. Mr. Brenneman started his career with Citicorp in 1984 as an Account Executive, and later, as the Southeast Regional Area Manager with Wells Fargo. From January 2003 to September 2007, he was the Carolina’s Sales Manager at First Franklin Financial Corporation, a subsidiary of Merrill Lynch. Mr. Brenneman returned to Wells Fargo prior to joining IOU Central. He received his undergraduate degree at UNC Chapel Hill, and an M.B.A. from Rollins College.

Mark Schrews - VP Wholesale Sales
IOU Central

Mark Schrews joined IOU Central as an Account Executive in 2011, and became Vice President of Retail Sales in June 2014. After serving five years in the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Weapons Technician, Mr. Schrews spent six years at Metro Brokers. As a broker, Mr. Schrews funded $50m with an average loan size of $127k. In 2003, Mr. Schrews became Director of Sales at American Mortgage Express. From 2008 to 20011, Mr. Schrews served as Senior Mortgage Loan Originator.
